Job Duties
Catawba Hospital has a part time entry-level position available for individuals interested in working with adult and/or geriatric psychiatric patients. These positions are eligible for day, evening, night, or weekend shifts. Shift differentials are provided for evening, night and weekend shifts.
Located approximately 15 miles from Roanoke, Virginia we are a Joint Commission accredited inpatient psychiatric facility with 110 beds that provides comprehensive mental-health services including assessment, treatment, and discharge planning. The Hospital located in Roanoke County, serves adults, ages 18 – 64, and geriatric adults, ages 64 and older. Individualized treatment is provided through interdisciplinary teams, which include: psychiatry, internal medicine, nursing, social work, psychology, psychosocial rehab therapy, pharmacy, and dietary services. Off-unit programs in a newly-designed treatment mall emphasize psychiatric rehabilitation, recovery from mental illness, and re-integration into the community. Catawba is a highly-respected teaching hospital affiliated with several local colleges, as well as, the University of Virginia School of Medicine.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to provide patient care under supervision of licensed staff and/or Lead CNA; ability to follow instructions and report observations to licensed nurse in timely manner; skills in providing assistance to patients in activities of daily living. Demonstrates competencies as defined on Competency Assessment
