Job Duties
To provide quality pre-service and in-service education to staff, other state employees, and the public at large, as a means of increasing competence and supporting staff in meeting the organization's mission of assisting people in their recovery.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed to be Successful in this Position:
• Ability to develop and present in-service educational programs.
• Knowledge of adult learning theory and best practices.
• Knowledge of course development and instructional design.
• Ability to facilitate learning for (teach) diverse groups of adults.
• Ability to prepare instructional materials and use audiovisual equipment.
• Ability to manage program administrative details to meet standards and guidelines.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to determine effectiveness of training and recommend program changes.
• Working knowledge of computer programs and applications, learning management
systems, and related instructional technologies.
• Working knowledge of issues related to inpatient behavioral health care.
Minimum Qualifications
• High School diploma or equivalent or experience teaching adults required.
Additional Considerations
Preferred:
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
preferred.
• Experience teaching adults.
• Experience with online courses preferred.
• Experience working with computer software related to instruction and education preferred.
• Experience in a behavioral health related profession and/or working knowledge of
behavioral health issues preferred.
• CPR Instructor Certification through the American Heart Association preferred.
