Job Duties

The Virginia Department of Taxation's Collections Unit is seeking an analytical and results-driven Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in creating and presenting insightful reports, while effectively communicating complex data and ideas to inform decision-making.


Key Responsibilities:

Reporting & Analytics: Identify, gather, and compile key performance indicators (KPIs) for Collections, Court Debt, Tobacco, and Offer In Compromise. Monitor and coordinate the creation of data-driven dashboards that track and showcase collections metrics.

Process Improvement: Serve as a key point of contact for the Collections team in supporting process improvements, implementing new reporting systems, and ensuring smooth collaboration with all levels of Collections Management.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between the Collections Unit and various external stakeholders, including the Commissioner’s Office, the Attorney General’s office, legislative offices, and other parties. This includes inquiries related to collections and liens and addressing escalated issues.



This position is in our Main Street Centre Office in downtown Richmond, Virginia.

This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule once fully trained. In office days are Tuesday through Thursday and telework days are Monday's and Friday's.

The anticipated hiring salary is commensurate with experience, up to $67,000

Minimum Qualifications

Experience identifying, gathering and compiling information for metric driven dashboards

Demonstrated ability to write and execute SQL queries for data extraction, manipulation, and creating/generating reports

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Office, or similar software

Experience researching/analyzing statistical data

Experience working on team or independent projects

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of people

 

Additional Considerations

Prefer progressive work experience in collections and customer service
