Job Duties

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will ensure recruitment and selection processes and applicable transactions are completed timely to support hiring efforts and hiring decisions that impact agency operations. You will provide assistance and solutions to internal stakeholders, provides an extraordinary employee onboarding experience and provides feedback to HR management to enhance VDOE's recruitment operations and other programs.

In this role, you will gain experience with and exposure to:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of human resource management and applicable federal and state laws and regulations, particularly in the areas of talent acquisition.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work.
  • Knowledge of administrative office practices and procedures.
  • Ability to solve problems using critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to examine and improve existing processes and create and document new ones.

Additional Considerations

  • Previous experience in talent acquisition is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Commonwealth of Virginia talent acquisition and classification and compensation policy/programs is a plus.
