Job Duties:
VIB is seeking a receiver/driver for our Ft. Belvoir Base Supply Center location.
The purpose of this position:
- Perform clerical and physical tasks in connection with receiving incoming shipments of merchandise.
- Driving a box truck to provide timely, courteous delivery of goods as needed to customers.
- Responsibilities may also include:
- Forklift operation and material movement.
- Cash register operation.
- Providing customer service.
- Stocking shelves
- Other duties in support of the operation of the Base Supply Center.
Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
Knowledge/Experience:
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- General warehousing, delivery service and/or retail experience.
Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient computer skills, familiarity with internet, Microsoft Windows operating system and Microsoft Office software.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to operate up to a 25ft Box Truck.
- Ability to perform duties independently without direct supervision.
- Ability to repeatedly and frequently lift to 50 pounds and stand up to 8 hours.
- Ability to operate a pallet jack/forklift.
The responsibilities of the receiver/driver include delivery between stores as well as customers on and off base.
Completes duties and/or projects as needed or directed by supervisor.
Additional Considerations:
- Experience working in a federal or military environment.
Special Instructions
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check for access to the military base.
This position is exempt from the Virginia Personnel Act and is otherwise known as non-classified.
