Job Duties

Directly responsible for the daily operations of the Cashier and Client Accounts Department to ensure work is performed in compliance with all policies and procedures. Cashier and custodian of $3,000 cash drawer. Accurately receipt, code, and deposit all negotiable instruments in compliance with standard Accounting Practices of the Commonwealth of Virginia and guidelines set by Cashier/Patient Accounts office. Consistently manage and implement all procedures for the Automated Cashier Transaction System (ACTS) within FMS. Review and approve financial transactions, audit and compile financial data for management reports. Manage the Local Funds and Petty Cash Fund Accounts and monitor cash balances available for distribution.

The qualified candidate will be knowledgeable in accounting / bookkeeping principles and practices in reference to cash handling, accounts payable, account management. and automated accounting system. Skilled in keyboarding, calculator and other automated offices systems. Experience in compiling, coding, batching, and keying data. Ability to perform detailed work with numerical data, make mathematical calculations rapidly and accurately. Demonstrate strong math, analytical and reasoning skills in identifying and resolving payment and data entry problems.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience in cash handling and customer service.
• Experience in compiling, coding, batching, and keying data.
• Experience in using automated accounting systems (i.e. QuickBooks).
• Experience in identifying and resolving payment and data entry problems.
• Experience in Accounting / Bookkeeping / Data Entry.
• Experience in preparing financial reports.
• Experience in the utilization of Microsoft Office Suite.
