Job Duties
Provides timely and effective customer service to museum staff. Provides museum staff with suggestions about technology products and service alternatives that best support business strategies. Ensure end users receive adequate notice about change management activities. Seeks input from Museum staff on a periodic basis as a means of evaluating and improving customer service. Provide system and software administration of applications. Ensure efficient operation and integration of all applications and ensure agency applications are properly safeguarded. Work closely with VITA’s vendors and VITA to resolve server/desktop application support issues and refreshes. Promptly advises supervisor of inadequate resources or inability to complete work on timely basis. Seeks clarification and asks questions when unsure of direction. Provide quotes for procurement of technology hardware, software and services. Conduct appropriate research to keep up with current technologies. Attend IT related training seminars. Provide suggestions for upgrades and software replacement based on a balanced consideration of facts, priorities, resources, constraints and alternatives. Consult with faculty and staff to determine appropriate IT hardware and software solutions. Troubleshoot issues with computers and applications. Responsible for installing and supporting agency IT hardware, software and peripherals. Maintains asset management for hardware, peripherals and applications. Supports the VMFA with access request and ticket processing for additions, changes and removal of entitlements. Uphold the universal competencies of teamwork, maintaining a safe and secure work environment and diversity commitment.
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of technology infrastructure and established skills at providing exceptional customer service. Demonstrated track record of successfully working at a service desk or providing desktop support for an organization. Demonstrated experience supporting a remote workforce with a variety of technical capabilities. Proven ability to install and securely manage hardware, software and utilities. Expert knowledge of end user office automation and Windows and Macintosh hardware and software. Demonstrated experience supporting desktops, laptops, mobile devices, network printers, and various peripherals. Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to multitask and prioritize closely with others on a small team to deliver exceptional services. Strong oral and written communication skills to deliver agency end user notification to technical and non-technical staff.

Experience with managing Commonwealth of VA computer refreshes. Experience with managing Adobe Creative Cloud environment. Experience with Commonwealth of VA IT Surplus procedures. Experience with managing a large Xerox printer work environment. Experience with managing Point of Sale systems. Experience with IT inventory management systems. Experience with managing computer lab environments.
