Job Duties
The Science Museum of Virginia is seeking a Housekeeping Duty Coordinator to join our housekeeping team to help lead our dedicated housekeeping team.
As the Housekeeping Duty Coordinator, you’ll work closely with the Experience Infrastructure Manager to assign tasks, manage checklists, and ensure that all spaces from exhibit halls to event venues are clean, organized, and guest-ready. You’ll consult the Museum’s Master Calendar, oversee timely completion of housekeeping requests, and help maintain the high standards that make the Museum an unforgettable destination.

Minimum Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess considerable knowledge of cleaning techniques, methods, materials, equipment, and chemicals used on a variety of surfaces, along with sanitation standards for public facilities Knowledge of safety practices in using chemicals and cleaning equipment. Requires working skills in operating power cleaning equipment such as buffers and vacuums. Candidate must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, and frequent standing, walking, bending, pushing, and reaching. Strong oral communication and organizational skills are essential. This position also requires the ability to lead and direct staff and the flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Additional Considerations
Prior housekeeping experience, preferably in a large multi-building environment, as well as experience with the proper usage of cleaning chemicals and housekeeping equipment.
