The Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) protects the public by preparing court-involved youth to be successful citizens. DJJ is committed to excellence in public safety by providing effective interventions that improve the lives of youth, strengthening both families and communities within the Commonwealth.
DJJ is currently hiring a Regional Service Coordination (RSC) Supervisor. This position will effectively plan, implement, and manage the DJJ's RSC model, the statewide continuum of community based and residential services. This position supervises the RSC team responsible for referral processing, oversight of service delivery, quality assurance monitoring, and data tracking. It will also effectively plan and implement the Standardized Program Evaluation Protocol (SPEP™) to strengthen and improve youth outcomes through partnership, education, and transparency.
Job duties include, but not limited to:
- Demonstrated ability to clearly present information in written and oral formats; simultaneously and effectively manage multiple tasks and projects; and work independently and within a team.
- Ability to implement supervision strategies with staff and train and coach staff in program implementation, practical application, and fidelity.
- Demonstrated ability to apply budget development, data collections and evaluation techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across divisions and with various levels of internal and external staff.
- Comprehensive knowledge of juvenile justice systems and programs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of services and evidence-based programs for juvenile justice involved youth.
- Considerable knowledge of methods of training, coaching, and technical assistance, program evaluation, and program monitoring processes.
- Working knowledge of risk assessment instruments, developing assessment-driven case plans, and service matching.
- Proficiency in Microsoft and other computer software including spreadsheets, word processing, databases, and presentation packages.
- Demonstrate the skill and ability to analyze and solve problems, including gathering information, anticipation of problems, review of the accuracy/validity of information, interpreting data, drawing conclusions, weighing of impact of decision-making, and facilitation of implementation of recommendations/solutions.
Additional Considerations
- Training and/or equivalent experience in public administration, criminal justice, or a related field.
- Considerable and progressive responsible supervisory, administrative experience in a juvenile justice field.
- Considerable professional experience in program development and implementation, program evaluation, and providing technical assistance, including project leadership functions.
