Job Duties
Successfully complete training to become a qualified Workforce Services Representative to provide workforce services to employers and job seekers related to the administration of the Wagner-Peyser and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Acts (WIOA).
Works with employers to maintain strong working relationships; prepares, reviews, and processes complete and accurate job orders; completes matching process to identify and/or refer potential job applicants.
Effectively markets and provides information on agency services; and performs other employer duties; works with jobseekers to find suitable employment; conducts interviews to evaluate workforce needs; uses information to determine training and/or other needs, matches skill set to potential job opportunities, and makes reasonable and appropriate referrals; and provides information on agency and/or other supportive services.
Minimum Qualifications
Basic knowledge of employment interviewing techniques, employment and wage laws and guidelines, and office operations and etiquette.
Strong customer service, oral and written communication, and computer skills (experience using Microsoft Office Professional and/or similar software).
Ability to interact effectively with employers and the public; discuss, interpret and apply agency standards and procedures; conduct interviews and research; evaluate skill sets and needs; use web-based applications to enter data and conduct database searches; and adapt to changing priorities and workload.
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license; moderate to frequent local and occasional overnight statewide travel, as required.
Additional Considerations
Must successfully obtain and demonstrate requisite skill set (knowledge, skills and abilities) to assume higher level duties as a Career Navigator and complete agency training requirements no later than 12 months (from start date in position) to remain in position.
Experience in human resources, community services, VEC workforce services and/or training programs.
