Job Duties

This position will be assigned to work throughout the Central Region with occasional assignments statewide. The position reports to VADOC Headquarters.

To ensure that staff working within the Reentry Programs are performing programming and therapeutic interventions consistent with Evidence Based Practices.

Facilitate statewide Cognitive Community Staff Trainings, as well as Skills Building Training for staff. Offer technical assistance to the Intensive Reentry Programs.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of corrections operations, both prison and community corrections, substance abuse treatment theories and techniques, working knowledge of therapeutic and cognitive community operations, assessment, program design and evaluation. Ability to effectively observe, analyze, identify program needs and communicate needs for improvements to program administrators. Ability to develop and follow through on work plans. Ability to work at all levels of the agency to accomplish goals. Ability to train staff in Cognitive Interventions and Substance Abuse treatment issue, therapeutic community operations.

Additional Considerations

Experience in corrections, Cognitive programming, substance abuse treatment and community model programs.
