Job Duties
The Lead Auditor / Audit Manager heads the audit team, supervising Auditors, setting audit strategies,
and ensuring that all gaming-related financial and operational audits are performed thoroughly,
accurately, and in line with regulatory mandates.
The Virginia Racing Commission (VRC) regulates the racing and wagering industry within the
Commonwealth, safeguarding public trust and ensuring accurate revenue collection and financial
integrity. The VRC’s Finance Division exists to uphold these objectives through effective budget
management, internal controls, and comprehensive financial oversight of both the Commission and its
licensees.
Minimum Qualifications
In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, audit techniques, and internal control frameworks.
Strong supervisory and mentoring skills, enabling effective oversight of Auditors’ work.
Familiarity with gaming industry requirements (MICS, tax filings, financial reporting) or similar regulated
environments.
Analytical and critical-thinking skills to interpret complex financial data and detect irregularities.
Excellent communication to convey audit findings and recommendations to senior leadership and
licensees
Additional Considerations
Experience conducting audits and analyzing data.
