Job Duties
Independently conduct compliance and quality improvement visits of enrolled medical facilities for the purpose of promoting quality health care practices; verify appropriate vaccine handling and storage; compile and evaluate information to determine the degree of compliance with VVSA program state and federal regulations; communicate findings; review and recommend approval, denial or revisions to health care provider's plans; recommend corrective action when a provider is non-compliant; and serve as a vaccine preventable disease information resource to health care providers.
Minimum Qualifications
• Knowledge of administrative practices and principles that support assigned program and service delivery
• Knowledge and experience with quality assurance monitoring, interpreting and applying regulatory law, policies, and procedures, and implementing corrective action plans and problem resolution
• Experience conducting inspections to evaluate and ensure compliance with regulations
• Experience collecting and analyzing data, preparing accurate technical documentation, and writing/providing complex reports
• Experience handling highly sensitive information and situations effectively
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and to present information and training to a variety of audiences
• Strong organizational skills and proficiency with computer systems, database management and software applications
Additional Considerations
• Knowledge of public health; communicable disease guidelines and regulations; vaccine preventable disease guidelines; vaccine handling and storage guidelines; and quality assurance techniques preferred.
• Knowledge of the Vaccines for Children Program preferred.
• Experience with vaccine management; working with medical professionals; and PEAR, SAMS, VTrckS, CoCASA and VIIS preferred.
• Candidate must exhibit the ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and have the ability to verbally communicate effectively in sometimes stressful healthcare settings.
