Job Duties
The Investigator is responsible for conducting background checks, site visits, interviews, and all aspects
of investigative fieldwork. Investigates suspected incidents of illegal activity or suspected fraud. Findings
directly inform licensing decisions and potential enforcement actions, ensuring that only qualified and
trustworthy entities operate in Virginia’s racing environment.
The Virginia Racing Commission (VRC) regulates the racing and wagering industry within the
Commonwealth, safeguarding public trust and ensuring accurate revenue collection and financial
integrity. The VRC’s Finance Division exists to uphold these objectives through effective budget
management, internal controls, and comprehensive financial oversight of both the Commission and its
licensees.
