Job Duties

The Accountant will provide direct financial support to assigned divisions by processing financial transactions such as journal entries and keying invoices in accounting systems. Process vendor payments; SPCC (Small purchase credit card), accounts receivable, and accounts payable. Reconciles SPCC purchases and submits monthly statement with required documentation. Process department purchase requests through the eVA vendor system and other approved sources. Assist with and processes department travel authorizations and reimbursements. Assists in the development and monitoring of budgets and budget reports for assigned program area. Monitors data and reconciles errors between financial systems and reports.

Minimum Qualifications

• Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices including cost accounting.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Demonstrated ability to apply and adapt established accounting methods to a variety of financial transactions and records and multiple funding streams.
• Demonstrated experience compiling financial reports records and statements.
• Experience developing and monitoring budgets, as well as preparing budget and accounts receivable reports for assigned program areas.
• Experience reviewing and processing accounts payable and receivable transactions, including verifying vouchers and reports for accuracy

Additional Considerations

• Demonstrated knowledge in Accounting, Fiscal, Business or related experience.
• Working knowledge of Procurement.
