Job Duties
Western State Hospital is seeking a full time Trades Tech IV Supervisor to provide oversight to journeyman level staff to ensure compliance and electrical support & services including trouble shooting, diagnosing, repairs, installation and preventive maintenance on the buildings and grounds at Western State Hospital (WSH) and the Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents (CCCA); provide snow removal and emergency services as required; and provide on-call, weekend and holiday maintenance coverage as directed by the supervisor.
This position will also be responsible for performance management, which includes ensuring expectations are clear, well communicated, and relate to the goals and objectives of the department or unit; staff receive frequent, constructive feedback, including interim evaluations as appropriate; and the requirements of the performance planning and evaluation system are met and evaluations are completed by established deadlines with proper documentation. This position will also perform preventive maintenance (PM) on equipment, buildings and grounds in accordance with the work order control system – TMS; recognize and report corrective maintenance (CM) to the work order control center and to perform corrective maintenance in accordance with the work order control system – TMS; manage preventative maintenance in accordance with the Facility’s maintenance schedules and the work order system; oversee trouble shooting and repairing existing electrical systems and equipment as needed to include lamps, light fixtures, electric motors, switches, rheostats, and motor starters; and Lockout/tag out defective equipment as required by departmental policies.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid Virginia Driver’s License
- Applies mastery of skills in area(s) of specialization as demonstrated by; Experience as a Journeyman, Military Equivalence-Interior Electrician MOS 12R, or Experience as master electrician (Master Tradesman eligibility requirement)
- Master level certification/license
- Provide proof of work experience and education
- Experience with building electrical systems
