Job Duties

The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) is seeking a motivated and intellectually curious teammate to lead the Central Office Budget Team. This position will work on the agency’s Cost Allocation Plan with Medicaid and oversee a budget of $200 million+, which includes all functions within the DBHDS Central Office. The position reports to the Budget Director and will be involved with executive leadership at the agency.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to manage and lead a small team. Ability to anticipate problems and issues; conduct policy, issue, and systems analyses and develop creative recommendations; interpret and project fiscal and programmatic data; prioritize projects with critical deadlines; adapt to a fast-paced work environment where priorities and instructions fluctuate; initiate research and analysis without prompting from superiors; be assertive in presenting options and recommendations; and be inquisitive about data, information, conclusions, and recommendations presented by agencies and others. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment; solve complex and dynamic problems and articulate highly complex financial issues to different audiences; and effectively communicate orally and in writing with senior leadership.

Additional Considerations

Experience in public administration, finance, political science, or related field. Professional-level experience or the equivalent conducting planning, budgeting, evaluation, research, or other staff-support requiring similar knowledge and abilities.
