Job Duties
An exceptional job opportunity for the role of Museum Technician/HVAC at the Virginia Museum of Natural History. This is a part-time position up to 24 hours per week. Normal work hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with workdays fluctuating between Monday-Saturday (Sundays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend only).
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Experience with HVAC Systems
2. Monitor, diagnose, and repair HVAC operating systems to include air handlers, motors, and fans.
3. Perform necessary systems checks and balances of everyday HVAC operations to include Compass operating systems
4 Must have the ability to work with little or no supervision and with a team atmosphere.
5. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
6. Must have computer skills to navigate the analytical aspects of the system.
7. Assist in other areas of the museum’s day-to-day operations to include cleanliness and maintenance of general areas of the museum inside and outside.
8. Reliable transportation and valid driver's license are needed.
9. Must be able to pass background check.
10. Must be available to work museum events, which may include evening, weekend, and holiday hours.
11. Other duties as assigned.
