About this position
The Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind is seeking a Housekeeping Worker.
This is a classified 12 month position with state benefits, including health insurance, retirement, life insurance and disability coverage.

A housekeeping worker at VSDB will provide educational and residential facilities with acceptable housekeeping in order to maintain sanitation standards
Minimum Qualifications
Working knowledge and experience in performing residential space cleaning
Ability to give and receive instruction in verbal and in written form
Proficiency level of “Novice” in American Sign Language as measured by the Sign Language
Proficiency Scale or agreement to acquire the specified level within three years
Current CPR/First Aid certification or must obtain following school policy
Ability to understand safety, sanitation and cleanliness needs
Willingness to work alternate schedules
Must have a valid Virginia Driver's license or ability to obtain following DMV guidelines.
Additional Considerations
Working knowledge of the operation of manual and power cleaning equipment preferred
Working knowledge of classroom and office space cleaning tasks preferred
Working knowledge of commercial (non-industrial) cleaning tasks preferred
