Job Duties
The CTE Office Support Specialist will perform and provide duties that are essential and critical to the federal and state requirements of the Office of CTE, including, technical support, fiscal and accounting support, program administration and support services, managing the functions of the CTE Office, and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Considerable knowledge of general office organization, practices, and procedures and English usage, including grammar, spelling, punctuation, and proofreading.
- General knowledge of career and technical education program clusters, service policies, and demonstrated ability to accurately apply and interpret policies and procedures.
- Highly developed communication skills, both oral and written. Strong customer service background and excellent interpersonal skills.
- General knowledge of accounting procedures and state fiscal guidelines.
- Advanced knowledge of computers with high proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database software (Access, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to exercise considerable independent judgment, handle confidential or sensitive matters, prioritize work activities appropriately, and adhere to critical deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to organize electronic and physical files.
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, deadline oriented work environment with multiple priorities and changing circumstances.
- Demonstrated ability to establish good working relationships with the supervisor, professional staff, and office support staff members in a variety of work situations and to provide courteous and prompt response to general inquiries and requests for assistance.
Additional Considerations
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in business administration, public administration, education administration or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is preferred.
- Experience in executive support, project management, operations, and fiscal processes. Prior experience as a special assistant is preferred.
