Job Duties

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles is hiring for an IFTA/IRP Administrative Operations Specialist in Richmond, VA. This position is open to current DMV employees only.

The Administrative Operations Representative supports DMV’s mission by managing financial reconciliations, processing IFTA and IRP applications and tax returns, facilitating IFTA/IRP audits and transmittal processes, administrative program maintenance and resolving escalated compliance issues. This position ensures operational accuracy, adherence to DMV policies, and efficient service delivery while contributing to DMV’s overall compliance and revenue collection goals.

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, serves approximately 6.2 million licensed drivers and ID card holders with over 8.4 million registered vehicles. Minimum Qualifications

•Knowledge of IFTA, IRP, and DMV compliance standards, with the ability to interpret and apply state and federal regulations.
•Experience in managing high-volume, detail-oriented administrative and financial tasks.
•Experience maintaining compliance with federal, state, and DMV-specific requirements.
•Strong problem-solving skills for processing transactions and resolving discrepancies.
•Experience communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Additional Considerations

• Familiarity with federal motor carrier regulations.
• Experience with DMV operations, financial reconciliation, or regulatory compliance processes.
