Job Duties

This Senior Analyst position works in the Strategic Planning Unit, which is part of the Research Unit. The Strategic Planning Unit is responsible for high level agency planning, measurement and reporting. Projects in the Strategic Planning Unit range from Strategic Plan development, other agencywide measures, interagency collaborative reporting, operations incident module reporting, and agency reports such as the Agency at a Glance.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Experience with complex relational databases. Knowledge of empirical/statistical techniques and methodology, data analysis and data management. Demonstrated experience in statistical analysis software (such as SPSS) and database management software. Experience with complex relational databases. Considerable skill in data collection, data assembly and applied research. Ability to accurately interpret analytical results and to communicate findings by presenting oral and written reports to various audiences.

Additional Considerations

Knowledge of state government, legislative process, the Virginia criminal justice system and related databases are an asset in this position.
