Job Duties
Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, fills and prepares various medication orders for patients 18 and older in support of ESH’s Vision, Mission, and Values. Responsible for proper medication storage, ordering medications and pharmacy related supplies, reconciling invoices and inventory discrepancies, reconciling Controlled Drug Proof of Use forms, and assuring proper medication segregation (e.g., expired drugs). Responsible for conducting monthly medication storage site inspections on the nursing units and/or clinics.
Minimum Qualifications
Current Virginia Pharmacy Technician Registration.
Current, valid, unrestricted driver’s license is required.
Pharmacy Technician ACPE approved continuing education certificates of 5 credit hours for calendar year 2024 and 2025.
Considerable experience working as a Pharmacy Technician is required.
Experience with prescription drug claims processing and calculations.
Experience utilizing pharmacy computer systems / programs and Microsoft Office Suite to include email application.
Additional Considerations
College level courses in mathematics / science is preferred.
