The DGS Division of Capital Square Services (DCSS) is hiring for a Parking Administrative Assistant. DCSS's mission is to deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and timely services that enable state agencies to conduct business efficiently in a safe and healthful environment. As part of DCSS's Bureau of Parking & Badging, the Parking Administrative Assistant supports this by providing data entry and other administrative support for day-to-day parking operations. DCSS manages 21 parking facilities at the Seat of Government and Westmoreland, totaling over 8,000 parking spaces controlled by the Department of General Services.

Job duties include, but are not limited to: 

  • Enter and update parking information in AIMS, our parking management system.
  • Assist and provide temporary hang tags to month-to-month parking customers and for agencies' visitor parking requests.
  • Activate and de-activate access cards for parking as needed.
  • Manage Accounts Receivable for parking office, including reviewing invoices, entering payments into PeopleSoft, and following up on outstanding payments.
  • Perform parking facilities inspections to ensure cleanliness and safety, including contacting custodial contractor for any cleaning issues and scheduling maintenance with the Bureau of Facilities Management as needed.
  • Answer phones and respond to verbal and written inquiries concerning parking in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist at the front desk when needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • Knowledge of parking program operations and administration.
  • Experience performing data entry.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills resulting in positive, helpful, effective oral and written communications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and computational skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage time wisely and successfully handle multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Ability to work both independently and in partnership with staff.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with spreadsheets, word processors, and email.
