Job Duties

This position is located in the Center for Public Health Initiatives at NSU (CPHI) at the Virginia Beach Higher Education Center. CPHI was launched in 2022 to 1) facilitate the development of public health-focused academic, academic support and other programs, 2) serve as a catalyst for excellence in teaching, research, service and practice and 3) support the development and operations of the Joint School of Public Health at ODU and NSU (JSPH). In addition, CPHI continues NSU's legacy of providing continuing education opportunities.

The purpose of this Coordinator position is to:


• Content creation and/or collection and dissemination
• Project planning, management and evaluation
• Establishment of standards, policies and procedures
• Resource management, including budgets
• Management of stakeholders, including teams
• Collaboration with a variety of partners

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or a related field.
  • Demonstrated work experience in communications, e.g., journalism or public relations
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with communications technologies
  • An ability to establish and apply best practices for effective copywriting, graphic design, layout and publishing
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and social media marketing
  • Excellent copywriting and copy-editing abilities
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
