We are currently seeking applications for a motivated and detail orientated individuals to join our Photography Department as a Assistant Videographer. This is a part-time, non-exempt position.
The Assistant Videographer will assist VMFA’s Videographer with general video production and editing of new and existing content. The Assistant Videographer may serve at the first pass editor for some long form projects such as recorded lectures, programs, and livestreams prior to publishing online. The position will work closely with other Imaging Resources staff to source supplemental materials used in video productions such as images, music, and stock footage.
Experience working with professional video and sound equipment is essential. Extensive knowledge of non-linear editing techniques, color grading, and sound mixing using various platforms such as Adobe Premier is essential. Experience with storyboarding and script writing and familiarity with motion graphics techniques are preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidate must have experience working with professional videography and sound equipment; extensive knowledge of non-linear editing techniques, color grading, and sound mixing required; experience with storyboarding and script writing encouraged; and, familiarity and experience with motion graphics and complex color grading are also preferred.
Additional Considerations
Demonstrated knowledge and skills in Media Production, Communications and Media, Film, Video Production, Marketing, or a related field—gained through professional experience, specialized training, or formal education—are required. Previous experience working in a corporate, higher education, or cultural heritage video production studio environment is also essential.
