Job Duties

• Engage in real-world projects and assignments that align with your academic field and career interests.
• Collaborate with agency leaders, subject matter experts, and fellow interns on meaningful initiatives.
• Receive mentorship, feedback, and professional development from experienced DOC professionals.
• Contribute to process improvements, data analysis, research, communications, and operational initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and currently enrolled in college or a high school senior.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States in accordance with USCIS requirements (www.uscis.gov/I-9).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Demonstrated professionalism, positive attitude, and willingness to learn

Additional Considerations

• Excellent academic record and a demonstrated interest in the specific internship area.
• Previous volunteer, academic, or work experience related to public safety or the chosen field is desirable.

Background Investigation Requirements: All applicants are subject to a background investigation. Investigations may include fingerprint checks (State Police, FBI); local agency checks; employment verification; verification of education (relevant to employment); credit checks; and other checks based on the position.

Drug Testing Requirements: Applicants applying to a designated safety sensitive position are subject to a pre-employment drug screen. Marijuana use is prohibited for positions that require possession of a firearm or a Commercial Driver’s License in the performance of official duties such as Corrections Officers, Probation Officers, Tractor Trailer Drivers and others.
