Job Duties
Virginia Tax is seeking a Business Tax Specialist to join the Office of Tax Processing. You will become part of a dedicated team that processes business tax returns and payments. As a member of this team your core responsibilities will be to research business tax exception payments, resolve misdirected items, prepare, and process the paper business tax return and communicate by phone or correspondence with business taxpayers to ensure the timely and accurate processing of their return and payments.
Experience working in a time-sensitive production environment requiring quick turnaround to meet critical deadlines.
Experience using a PC to navigate multiple systems to research data.
Experience working independently and making judgements as to the correct action to take.
Demonstrated ability to follow procedures.
Experience communicating verbally and in writing.
Anticipated hiring range is commensurate with experience up to $38,834.00.
This position is located in Richmond, VA at our Westmoreland Street location.
This position is not eligible for telework.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience working in a time-sensitive working environment
Experience using a PC/laptop to navigate to and between different production application systems
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and ability to make sound decisions
Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
Ability to follow written and verbal procedures
Experience/ability working and communicating with external customers by phone and in writing
Additional Considerations
Experience with tax or financial software/computer programs
