The Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) is excited to offer a competitive opportunity to serve as a Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst with the Cybersecurity Risk Management division.
The Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) Analyst functions as a liason between both internal and external intelligence partners. The threat intelligence aquired will be developed and shared as appropriate to strengthen the security posture of COV systems and data.
The analyst shall recommend best practices, security enahancements, and notify management of emerging threats. The analyst will also help build and maintain the CTI platform.
The Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst is responsible for proactively identifying, analyzing, and reporting on cyber threats that may impact the organization. This role requires a high level of discretion and professionalism, handling sensitive and confidential information with integrity and accuracy.
The analyst will monitor threat landscapes, produce timely intelligence reports, and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong customer service skills are essential to support internal teams, address concerns, and provide clear guidance during potential or active security events.
The ideal candidate can remain calm during high-pressure situations, apply de-escalation techniques when engaging with stakeholders, and translate complex threat data into actionable insights to protect the organization’s digital environment.

Minimum Qualifications
Considerable experience in identification of emerging threats.
Considerable experience evaluating security controls and presenting findings in written reports.
Considerable experience within trend analysis for identifying threats.
Considerable experience in one or more of the following: System administration of both Windows and Unix based platforms, web servers, patch management systems, vulnerability management systems.
Considerable experience working with internal/external stakeholders.
Considerable experience with Accunetix 360, Nucleus, Axonius, NIST NVD, Recorded Future, or other vulnerability and threat intelligent tools.
Considerable experience Microsoft Office productivity products (Word, Excel (pivot tables and data analysis), PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Considerable Experience creating security intelligence advisories, evaluating security controls and procedures against emergining threats, and presenting recommendations.
Considerable experience in project management.
Additional Considerations
Experience with python scripting to handle API integrations.
Preferred certifications include: Microsoft certification in Windows, 365, or Azure, Comptia Network +, Comptia Security +.
Preferred experience with EMC’s Archer GRC.
