Job Duties
The Virginia Department of Taxation, Office of Technology, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Team Lead Software Developer to drive innovation and transformation within our tax return processing systems. This role is critical to ensuring that our systems continue to meet the evolving needs of both Virginia taxpayers and the Commonwealth government.
As a Team Lead, you will collaborate closely with both business and technical stakeholders to refine requirements, design robust system architectures, and deliver enhancements that improve functionality, performance, and user experience. Your leadership will directly influence the modernization of one of our most complex and mission-critical applications.
The position is located at our Main Street Centre location in Richmond Virginia and has a hybrid schedule consisting of 3 days in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and 2 days teleworking (Monday and Friday).
The anticipated hiring salary is commensurate with experience up to $141,000

Minimum Qualifications
Expert working knowledge of .NET and C#
Experience developing applications that interface with Oracle, SQL Server including writing ad hoc queries and/or stored procedures
Ability to independently analyze program specifications, to code and test programs and resolve problems across multiple systems
Experience with Optical Character Reader technologies (OCR) and document processing for capturing data
Experience working within an Agile and/or Scrum project management methodology
Experience in Linux/ Unix shell scripting or Windows Power Shell
Additional Considerations
Knowledge of Microsoft PowerPlatform tools such as PowerBI, PowerApps, and PowerAutomate
