Job Duties
The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, Division of Dam Safety & Floodplain Management, is seeking an individual to serve as a Dam Rehabilitation Engineer. This position is responsible for the management of the District Dam rehabilitation process. This position will maintain a prioritization list for the rehabilitation of High and Significant Hazard District owned dams, and manage professional contracts for planning, design, and construction of dam rehabilitation. This position serves as the point of contact for all dam rehabilitation projects and assists the districts through the process.

Minimum Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering, related engineering disciplines, or a combination of training and experience to provide the needed knowledge and abilities in those fields.
- Knowledge of engineering principles of hydrology and hydraulics and their application to impounding structures.
- Knowledge of state contract management, Request for Proposals (RFPs) and/or Invitations for Bids (IFB).
- Ability to develop and make presentations and provide technical assistance and sound engineering advice to a variety of stakeholders.
- Possess a current Professional Engineer (PE) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Additional Considerations
- Experience performing dam inspections.
- Knowledge of construction principles and estimates.
- Knowledge of Dam Rehabilitation principles and design standards.
- Knowledge and thorough understanding of the Virginia Dam Safety Act and Regulations.
