Job Duties
Adjunct instructors are responsible to teach one or more undergraduate courses in American Government with emphasis on Civic Engagement, develop syllabi, assignments, and assessments consistent with departmental learning outcomes, maintain effective student engagement in both classroom and online settings (if applicable), provide timely feedback and academic support to students, collaborate with department faculty to enhance curriculum and civic education initiatives, and up hold the university's commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and community engagement.
Minimum Qualifications
l. Master’s degree in political science, public administration, or a closely related discipline (Ph.D. preferred).
2. Demonstrated expertise in American Government, secondary interest in civic engagement, political behavior, or public affairs.
Additional Considerations
1. Evidence of successful teaching at the college or university level.
2. Ability to work with community stakeholders (e.g., advocacy groups, elected and government officials, non-profits, businesses, schools, and NGOs) to promote civic engagement
