Job Duties
The VA Department of Motor Vehicles is looking to hire a Customer Records Technician for a part-time position with its Customer Records work unit. This position involves providing support with crash reports, driver and vehicle record requests to customers in accordance with applicable statutes, regulations and procedures in a courteous and friendly manner.
Wage positions are limited to working no more than 1,500 hours per agency during the 12-month period of May 1 – April 30, regardless of the hire date. The wage employment period resets on May 1 of the following year. All wage employees are limited to working no more than 29 hours per week on average over the 12-month period. This wage position offers no state benefits.
Minimum Qualifications
• Knowledge of business English, mathematics.
• Knowledge of office operating practices, office equipment and its uses, standard business forms and filing systems and principles.
• Keyboarding skills and ability to use a personal computer and access automated systems.
• Demonstrated ability to perform detailed work using prescribed procedures.
• Collecting and organizing material by analyzing what is available and deciding what to include, presenting data in prescribed format.
• Interpret and explain guidelines, regulations, policies and procedures to customers.
• Compose correspondence, research, analyze data and reach logical conclusions.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with external and internal customers.
