Job Duties
TREATMENT MALL HALL MONITOR
• Direct patients to assigned groups.
• Complete patient counts on the hour
• Assist with redirection of patient behaviors as needed.
• Contact units via telephone for updates as needed.
• Facilitate staff and patient movement during emergent events (e.g. Code Red, Code Green, Code White, Medical Alerts.)
• Coordinate and aid in transport of patients to and from the Treatment Mall.
• Monitor groups and respond to radio calls for assistance.
• Track the late arrivals and early departures of patients to and from the Mall.
• Assist with special events as assigned
• Be present on the Treatment Mall in the morning and afternoon to allow time to print group sheets, make sure group rooms are prepared and assigned, and waiting on patients to arrive 15 minutes before their assigned arrival time.
• Complete safety checks of all door alarms and group spaces prior to and following patient arrival/departure.
• Locking and unlocking bathroom facilities on Treatment Mall.
• Copy and pasting patient group schedules into the EHR.
• Other Mall duties as assigned.
• Holiday coverage as assigned.
VOLUNTEER SERVICES/DEPARTMENTAL SUPPORT
• Organize, sort, and hang up clothing donations in the clothing closet.
• Complete work orders as needed for treatment mall facilities.
• Order supplies (e.g. journals) for treatment mall utilization.
• Maintain clean and organized spaces, including group rooms, storage spaces, halls and clothing closet.
• Provide patients clothing from the clothing closet as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.
SUPPORT SERVICES
• Assist PSR with clerical duties, preparation for groups or special events, other duties as assigned
EDUCATION
• Maintains current CPR certification per facility training guidelines.
• Maintains current Therapeutic Options certification per facility training guidelines.
• Attends scheduled mandatory and pertinent in-services related to job duties.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor
• Compliance with established Attendance Policy, CHPP 12-03.10, with no more than five (5) occurrences in a calendar year.
All employees are responsible for ensuring patient safety in accordance with the National Patient Safety Goals. Safety risks include any activity or behavior that could be perceived as potentially harmful, such as, but not limited to suicide, aggression, homicide, falls and elopement. If a patient is in imminent danger, staff must remain with the patient until assistance can be provided. If there is a concern about a patient’s condition worsening, the charge nurse on the patient’s unit is the primary contact person to ask for immediate additional assistance.
• Consistently reports unsafe situations to the appropriate department/discipline.
• Follows guidelines of department/hospital policies that involve safety issues.
Understands that the hospital has “zero tolerance” for disruptive and inappropriate behaviors and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” as defined by the hospital and outlined in the State’s “Standards of Conduct” policy, 1.60
