About the Agency:

The Virginia Department of Military Affairs State Team provides professional and responsive state support functions to the Adjutant General of Virginia, the Virginia Army National Guard, the Virginia Air Guard, and the Virginia Defense Force in order to ensure their ability to support and defend the United States and the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Purpose of Position:

To provide engineering equipment operation in support of the Installation Virginia Qualified Recycling Program (QRP); Performs identification, collection, separation, storage, and packaging of qualified recyclable materials. Prepares recyclables for sale and shipment. Provides daily management of the Installation's 180-day hazardous material transfer station operations.

This position is part-time and ineligible for state benefits. This position is limited to working 1500 hours per year, which equates to an average of 29 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of engineering equipment operations In diverse terrains and routine equipment//maintenance;

Knowledge of Recycling Facility Operations best practices and methods;

Ability to apply heavy physical effort, continuous bending, turning, moving hands, feet, and legs to handle different sets of controls In operation of equipment and attachments;

Ability to tolerate constant vibrations, jerking and general uncomfortable conditions;

Skill in eye hand coordination and excellent visual depth perception;

Knowledge of basic safety, and OSHA procedures and regulations;

Ability to understand and follow all safety protocols and OSHA procedures and regulations;

Must have valid Virginia Driver's License with an acceptable driving record;

Working knowledge of hazardous material policies and SOPS.
