Job Duties
Provides Virginia employers a proven strategy for hiring and maintaining a trained and dedicated workforce through the Virginia Registered Apprenticeship Program (VRAP), which includes the identification of sponsor companies, intermediaries, educational providers and stakeholders. As part of the broader Virginia Works team, works to develop, promote, evolve, and expand the VRAP. Provides prompt and efficient customer service to prospective and existing customers, including both employers and, when appropriate, job seekers; performs programmatic tasks to ensure compliance; provides assistance and/or training to new staff, as assigned; conducts Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) reviews and quality assurance (QA) assessments; actively engages with and contributes to their region’s Business Services Team; and assists with special projects. May complete mandatory training to progress through the VRAP. Travels within the service area to meet with potential and existing customers and stakeholders, promote the VRAP, and/or attend meetings or training.
Minimum Qualifications
• Working knowledge of apprenticeship programs and/or training methods; administrative and operational practices; and/or marketing, program promotion, or sales strategies.
• Strong customer service, oral and written communication, and computer skills (experience using Microsoft Office Professional and/or similar software).
• Ability to efficiently manage multiple customer cases and projects; interact effectively with employers, customers, staff and the public; discuss program requirements and promote benefits; conduct interviews, reviews, and research; evaluate requisite skill sets and training needs; use automated systems to enter data and conduct searches; and learn and utilize apprenticeship training methods, policies and regulations, and data systems.
• Ability to demonstrate a growth and expansion mindset by developing goals, determining actions, and executing on specific tasks to achieve goals.
Additional Considerations
• Experience with apprenticeship, job services, and/or training programs: governmental operations; and employment laws.
