Job Duties

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking a CDL/NDR Supervisor. The CDL/NDR Supervisor oversees the operations of the DMV’s high-volume regulatory unit, guiding staff and coordinating customer service activities. This position plays a key role in ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, specifically as they relate to commercial driver licensing (CDL). The Office Manager is responsible for supervising staff, managing records, coordinating communication with federal agencies, and providing professional training.

The Driver Licensing Division, within the Driver Services Administration, ensures the safe and efficient issuance of driver's licenses and identification cards by maintaining strict adherence to state and federal regulations. This division supports the agency's mission by safeguarding identities, verifying eligibility, and delivering excellent customer service through streamlined and secure licensing processes.

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, serves approximately 6.2 million licensed drivers and ID card holders with over 8.4 million registered vehicles. Minimum Qualifications

•Strong knowledge of DMV policies, federal motor carrier regulations, and CDL procedures; able to interpret and enforce driver licensing laws.
•Skilled in high-volume data entry, payment processing, and financial reconciliation with secure record-keeping.
•Proven leadership and mentoring skills to drive team performance in a regulated, high-volume environment.
•Clear written and verbal communication for handling inquiries, resolving conflicts, and working with internal and external teams.
•Effective problem-solving for operational issues, escalations, and compliance decisions.
•Proficient in DMV systems (CSS, CDLIS, NDR) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word

Additional Considerations

• Experience using DMV systems (e.g., CDLIS, CSS) to manage driver records in compliance with regulations.
• Able to manage multiple tasks, including staff training, agency communication, and compliance projects.
