Job Duties
The Nursing Department provides 24-hour direct care services to geropsychiatric patients. The goal of care is to facilitate discharge to a less restrictive setting by assisting patients to improve and/or maintain their physical, mental and social functioning. This nursing care goal is achieved in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
Minimum Qualifications
• Basic Computer Knowledge.
• Requires current LPN licensure through the Virginia Department of Health Professions.
• General nursing experience.
• Experience with bedside nursing and patient observation
Additional Considerations
• Long Term Care and Nursing Home experience is preferred
• Knowledge gerontology, techniques of behavior management, applied pharmacology
as related to elderly patients with chronic medical conditions and mental disorders is preferred
• Knowledge of infection control practices is preferred
• Basic management and supervisory skills is preferred
• Experience working with Electronic Health Records is preferred
