Job Duties:

DBVI enables blind and vision-impaired individuals to achieve their desired levels of employment, education, and independence. The Administration Division supports the Agency’s mission by providing quality financial management, facilities management, policy and legislative services, and performance management. All financial and risk management support services are delivered with the goal of maximizing the funds entrusted to DBVI by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
We are seeking a Finance & Administration Project Analyst (Wage) to support the effective management and day-to-day operations of the agency by providing analytical, financial, and administrative support services. This position primarily serves the Finance & Risk Management business unit while also delivering significant cross-functional support to other departments and administrative functions.
The role is responsible for supporting financial and administrative activities that enable informed decision-making, operational efficiency, and organizational effectiveness. It involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders to integrate information from multiple sources, support planning and reporting efforts, and contribute to the successful execution of projects, initiatives, and ongoing operational priorities.

- Cross-Functional Support & Collaborative Work
Other duties and/or special projects as assigned. Completes duties and/or projects as needed or directed by the supervisor.
This is a wage (part-time) position, averaging 29 hours per week and not exceeding 1,500 hours per employment year. Please note: this position does not include health insurance, retirement benefits, or leave.
Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
Knowledge/Experience:
• Coursework or training in data analysis, statistics, or research methods
• Experience with nonprofit, government, or human services organizations
• Familiarity with data visualization concepts or tools (Power BI, Tableau, Excel charts)
• Experience with databases or data management systems
• Understanding of program evaluation or performance measurement concepts
• Interest in social services, community programs, or public sector work
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, basic functions, charts/graphs)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Skills/Abilities:
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to learn new systems and software quickly
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with others
• Willingness to ask questions and seek guidance
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Basic understanding of financial or budget concepts
