Join the Virginia Tax team as a Business Analyst!
The Virginia Department of Taxation is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Business Analyst to play a key role in our annual legislative implementation project. In this position, you will assist the Planning Coordinator with progress tracking and provide critical support across multiple functions. Responsibilities include conducting research and analysis, contributing to design efforts, and documenting, testing, and facilitating the implementation, publication, and distribution of agency forms and instructional materials.
As part of our team, you will work closely with developers, functional analysts, testers, and system users to resolve forms-related issues and implement changes efficiently. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
The position is located at our Main Street Center location in Richmond, Virginia.
The schedule is hybrid with 3 days in office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and 2 telework days on Monday and Friday.
The anticipated hiring salary is commensurate with experience up to $70,000

Minimum Qualifications
Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar tools
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Experience working independently and in a team environment
Ability to handle multiple assignments while ensuring deadlines are met
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Additional Considerations
Advanced knowledge, skill or experience in areas such as taxes, finance, government, or other related fields
Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax principles and policies
Ability and experience to communicate complex information in written form
Knowledge of tax processing and tax processing systems
