Support Enterprise Software Implementation at Virginia DMV

Help Launch Maximo Facilities Management Software Across the Agency

Want to see how large organizations implement enterprise software? You'll be part of the team rolling out Maximo—IBM's facilities management platform—across DMV's infrastructure. This is your chance to gain hands-on experience with software integration in a real operational environment.

The Opportunity

The Virginia DMV is modernizing its facilities management operations with Maximo, a comprehensive asset and work management system. You'll support the implementation team during the critical rollout phase, gaining exposure to how enterprise software integrations actually work beyond the classroom.

The Project: Facilities Services & Planning

Support the rollout of Maximo facilities management software across DMV operations.

You'll work alongside the Facilities Services team during a major technology implementation, helping ensure data accuracy, supporting user adoption, and learning how modern software applications integrate within large organizations.

What You'll Do:

Software Implementation Support:

Assist with Maximo rollout activities and deployment tasks

  • Support data verification and quality assurance during migration

  • Help coordinate implementation activities across departments

  • Learn how enterprise facilities management software operates

Data & Organization:

  • Verify asset and facilities data for system integration

  • Support data cleanup and standardization efforts

  • Help organize documentation for the new system

  • Assist with tracking implementation progress

Collaboration & Coordination:

  • Work with facilities staff across different DMV locations

  • Support communication between technical and operational teams

  • Participate in implementation meetings and planning sessions

  • Help troubleshoot issues during the rollout phase

What You'll Learn:

Technical Experience:

  • Maximo facilities management platform (widely used enterprise software)

  • How enterprise software implementations actually happen

  • Data migration and verification processes

  • System integration in operational environments

Professional Skills:

  • Project coordination during major technology rollouts

  • Cross-functional collaboration

  • Change management in large organizations

  • How to bridge technical and operational teams

Career Applications:

  • Understanding of facilities management operations

  • Enterprise software experience (Maximo is used globally)

  • Implementation project exposure

  • Real-world view of how organizations modernize their systems

Why This Experience Matters:

Every organization—government, corporate, healthcare, education—uses enterprise software to manage their operations. Understanding how these systems get implemented, how data gets migrated, and how organizations manage change during technology adoption is valuable across any industry. Plus, Maximo experience is marketable—it's used by thousands of organizations worldwide.

Resume Translation: "Supported enterprise facilities management software implementation, including data verification, system rollout coordination, and user adoption activities"

The Reality:

Software implementations are messy, challenging, and full of learning opportunities. You'll see the practical side of IT projects—the coordination required, the data challenges that emerge, the human factors in technology adoption. This is the real-world experience you can't get from a software tutorial.
