Job Duties

This position is part of a Registered Apprenticeship (RA) Program, designed to prepare the employee to become a qualified Career Navigator through on-the-job training and related technical instruction. Duties include providing workforce services in alignment with the Wagner-Peyser (WP) and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs; building and maintaining strong relationships with employers; preparing, reviewing, and processing accurate job orders; matching and referring qualified job seekers to employment opportunities; marketing agency services effectively to employers and job seekers; conducting interviews to assess workforce needs and identifying training or support requirements; and providing referrals to employment, training, and supportive services.

On-the-job and related technical instruction will be provided in order to progress through the RA program.

Note: This position is designated as a mobile worker role and involves travel across the Commonwealth to deliver services to workforce centers. Overnight or extended travel may be required based on the business need.

Minimum Qualifications

Basic knowledge of employment interviewing techniques, employment and wage laws and guidelines, and office operations and etiquette. Strong customer service, oral and written communication, and computer skills (experience using Microsoft Office Professional and/or similar software). Ability to interact effectively with employers and the public; discuss, interpret and apply agency standards and procedures; conduct interviews and research; evaluate skill sets and needs; use web-based applications to enter data and conduct database searches; and adapt to changing priorities and workload.

Additional Considerations

Experience in human resources, community services, workforce services and/or training programs.
