This isn't just data entry. You'll be a trusted advisor to managers, a detective solving classification puzzles, and a champion for accurate, meaningful position documentation that helps people understand their value and growth opportunities.

What You'll Do

Be a Career Catalyst

  • Support our exciting Upshift career pathing program, helping employees visualize and plan their professional growth
  • Partner with managers to assess role stages and career progression opportunities
  • Serve as the go-to expert for position classification questions and guidance

Master the Systems & Data

  • Maintain and optimize our position management systems with precision and care
  • Analyze trends and patterns in role data to support strategic workforce planning
  • Ensure every position description accurately reflects the important work our employees do

Provide Expert Support

  • Translate complex classification concepts into clear, actionable guidance
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide responsive, helpful customer service to colleagues
  • Learn and leverage cutting-edge AI-assisted documentation tools to work smarter

What You Bring

Essential Skills:

  • Tech savvy: Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word & Excel are your friends!)
  • HR knowledge: Understanding of position descriptions and classification principles
  • People skills: Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and provide excellent customer service
  • Detail-oriented: Eagle eye for accuracy when reviewing documents and managing data
  • Organized: Natural ability to create systems that keep information accessible and orderly
  • Communicator: Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Adaptable learner: Enthusiasm for mastering new tools and methodologies

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience with DHRM role classification, career groups, or compensable factors
  • Familiarity with PageUp or Cardinal HCM systems
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
  • Background in state government HR or large organizations
  • Experience with career frameworks or competency models
