Job Duties
Director of Plant Operations is responsible for supervising all maintenance and ground activities so that these departments assure the physical plant to be efficiently operated and grounds properly maintained. This includes sound planning, directing of workforce, controlling cost and maintaining sound organizational relationships. This person shall also take any action that is necessary for the efficient operation of this department.
Minimum Qualifications
For this position knowledge, skills and abilities must be in the following areas: Maintenance Activities, VCCO/Facility Construction, Facility Emergencies, and Facility Emergency Life Safety. Approves and writes with staff, policy/procedures for the Maintenance Department.
High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have five years of health care setting; prefer seven years with extensive experience in three or four trades. Must become certified as a commercial applicator for turf and ornamental applications. Must hold a current certificate for Fertilizer Applicator. General knowledge of all systems. Valid Virginia driver’s license.
Additional Considerations
Must be able to transport residents from floor to floor or outside of the facility using the elevators and/or stairs since we are a multi-level facility.
