Job Duties
To provide instruction in a comprehensive, hospital-wide, multi-disciplinary Education program which assures the competence of all hospital personnel. To act as the department head in identifying critical educational needs and designing creative, cost effective programs to meet those needs. Provide quality oversight and fidelity to course requirements. To utilize current educational technology in providing educational activities within the facility.
Minimum Qualifications
• Knowledge of adult learning theory and curriculum development, knowledge of principles & techniques of academic & vocational training; knowledge of clinical practice in mental health services.
• Skill in oral & written communication, skill in use of audiovisual & other training equipment.
• Ability to develop programs, curricula & course materials, ability to deliver training & lead discussion, ability to evaluate training results.
Additional Considerations
• Concentration in psychiatric nursing education or mental health nursing education preferred.
• Clinical, administrative, and management experience in a psychiatric hospital setting preferred.
•Master’s degree from an accredited college/university in mental health field very strongly preferred.
