Job Duties:

The Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center (WWRC) is seeking a Student Services Supervisor to provide daily leadership and oversight for the ESS Department.

This role includes coaching and supporting staff, ensuring high‑quality instruction, completing performance evaluations, and maintaining accurate Employee Work Profiles. The Supervisor promotes a positive, student‑centered educational climate and models equitable, culturally responsive practices that support the diverse needs of all learners.
The position is responsible for implementing evidence‑based instructional strategies, supporting professional development, and collaborating with instructors, counselors, and stakeholders to improve student outcomes. The Supervisor manages departmental operations, including budgeting, program compliance, and updates to the ESS Operations Manual. Additional duties include participation in pre‑admissions processes, leading student team meetings, analyzing credential and progress data, and ensuring measurable student achievement aligned with WWRC and DARS goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires knowledge of: administrative, managerial, and supervisory practices; program development/evaluation; ability to oversee the implementation of functional assessments and development of appropriate behavioral strategies for classroom environments and individual students ; ability to provide ongoing support and training to direct service providers departments to insure the education and rehabilitation needs of individuals with various disabling conditions across age groups and cultural backgrounds (youth and adults) are met.

This position requires demonstrated skills in: collaborative leadership; organization and project management; problem-solving and decision-making; ability to interpret data to support decisions effective oral and written communication; negotiation and conflict resolution; program development; Windows-based computer applications; professional development of staff; data-driven decision making; differentiated instruction, and effective customer service. The individual must be able to work independently and make independent decisions, while working as an effective team member and team leader.

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required for Entry into Position:

Virginia Department of Education Postgraduate Professional License (or eligible), with endorsement(s) in Administration and Supervision, and Special Education (or eligible) and/or certification as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA); experience coaching behavioral support staff and instructional staff.

Additional Considerations:

Special Education secondary experience; Supervisory experience in Student Services including counseling, mental health supports, and behavioral health.
