Job Duties
The mission of CCCA is to serve those children and adolescents admitted to the Center by providing psychiatric diagnostic, evaluation, and treatment services of the highest quality attainable at a reasonable cost to the Commonwealth in coordination with the family, community services, and the professional community. The Center’s services are provided to Virginia’s youth toward the goal of improvement in their lives and development of their fullest potential.
The Mission of the CCCA Nursing Department is to skillfully assess children for medical and mental health concerns when admitted for acute psychiatric care. The Registered Nurse responsibility is to report accurate information to the psychiatrist, who will then give direction to the RNs regarding appropriate medication and treatment regime to put into place for the patient.

• 1st shift weekend-$5.50 per hour
• 2nd shift-weekday-$5.50 per hour/2nd shift weekend/holidays-$6.00 per hour
• 3rd shift-weekday-$4.00 per hour/3rd shift weekend/holidays-$7.00 per hour

Minimum Qualifications
•Competent in KSA’s of RN Manager I
•Knowledge of child & adolescent psychiatric nursing practices
•Supervises RN & RN II, Mentors, Psychiatric Nursing Assistant Coach and Psychiatric Nursing Assistants providing mentoring, direction and guidance & work direction as necessary.
•Possesses the ability to teach others with the ability to relate effectively with individuals and groups
•Maintains all competencies as out lined within employee’s discipline at CCCA
•Working knowledge of illness and treatment modalities, and ability to use nursing process, principles, practices and techniques to provide patient care
•Skilled in multi-tasking in a high stress environment while working with a variety of clients
•Ability to work independently, show initiative, and work productively within a team environment
•Effective written and oral communication skills
•Good interpersonal skills/ability to relate to a variety of stakeholders including
patients, parents and patient representatives, members of the interdisciplinary
treatment team, and employees at all levels of the organization
Proficient with the use of computers and electronic health records
Ability to pass and maintain T.O., DEFUSE, UKERU and CPR certification

Supervisory experience preferred
Experience working with Children and Adolescents or a mental health setting preferred
