Job Duties:

The Vocational Training Department at the Wilson Workforce Rehabilitation Center (WWRC) is seeking a part time wage Training Program Support Specialist.

The Training Program Support Specialist provides instructional support for Workforce Development and Rehabilitation Center (WWRC) training programs by serving as a substitute instructor when needed and delivering virtual instruction to students. This position ensures continuity of learning and supports program objectives by maintaining instructional quality and engagement in both in-person and virtual settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a substitute instructor for training programs when primary instructors are unavailable.
• Deliver virtual instruction using approved platforms and tools to maintain program continuity.
• Assist with credential and/or certification testing as needed.
• Follow established curriculum, lesson plans, and instructional guidelines to ensure compliance with program standards.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to ensure learning objectives are met.
• Maintain accurate attendance and instructional records.
• Communicate effectively with program staff, students, and supervisors regarding instructional needs and scheduling.
• Assist with preparation of instructional materials and resources as needed.
• Support classroom management and foster a positive learning environment.

This is a wage position, and hours vary based on program needs and may include on-site and remote work and can’t exceed 1500 hours during their employment year.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience in instructional delivery, training, or related field.
Experience in virtual learning platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and basic computer applications.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to adapt to different instructional environments and student needs.
Flexible schedule.

Additional Considerations:

Bachelor's Degree; teaching license or industry certifications
A Collegiate Professional License or Technical Professional License issued by the Virginia Department of Education (or equivalent issued by another state).
Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in vocational training settings.
Knowledge of WWRC programs and services.

Special Instructions:

This has been designated a sensitive position under Va. Code § 2.2-1201.1.
