The Information Technology division in the Department of Accounts (DOA) is seeking a qualified individual for a Senior Web Application Developer position.

This particular position is open to current state employees only.  It has a hybrid schedule requiring 3 days/week working in the office in downtown Richmond, VA. 

DOA’s mission is to provide a uniform system of accounting, financial reporting, and internal control adequate to protect and account for the Commonwealth’s financial resources, while supporting and enhancing the recognition of Virginia as the best managed state in the union.

Job Duties

This position serves as a Full Stack .NET Developer for the agency’s non-Cardinal development team.

The position develops technical requirements and specifications by working directly with the business. They provide analysis of the requirements and translate them into designs. The position codes, reviews, tests, and debugs web applications. The position creates documentation when creating and modifying systems. They provide operational support for all web applications. The position ensures that the applications they develop meet all VITA Security and Accessibility requirements.

This position will develop new applications, migrate existing ColdFusion applications to a modern platform, and may address break/fix issues in legacy applications. This position will perform code reviews and will have their code reviewed by peers.

Minimum Qualifications

The following experience is required for this position:
• Developed ASP.NET Core applications
• Developed SQL code
• Developed C# code
• Gathered requirements from business users
• Utilized a Version Control System

Additional Considerations

The following experience is preferred for this position:
• Developed Blazor or Razor Pages
• Developed ColdFusion applications
• Performed code reviews
• Supported deployment automation
• Developed SSIS/DTS packages
• Developed applications running on Windows Server -and- Microsoft SQL Server
• Previous Virginia state government experience

Work shall be completed in a manner that complies with DOA’s Core Competencies as outlined in DOA Policy 307- Performance Management.

Experience or education in computer science, engineering, or a related field is preferred.

**This position has a hybrid work schedule with three days/week working in the office in downtown Richmond, VA.
