Job Duties

This position uses technical expertise in the overall responsibility of day-to day reconciliation of information, data collection and analysis to provide facility with an accurate daily census for reimbursement of room and board cost-per day. Quality auditing, monitoring and updating of all legal statuses, diagnoses (DSM-V/I-10) and demographic information within the medical record and AVATAR database. Identifies, corrects and reports inaccuracies to interdisciplinary departments.

Ensuring information reported in AVATAR is documented within the medical record as a means of supporting the Department's overall mission of providing excellent patient care. This position is considered essential personnel and would be required to work in the event of an emergency or facility need.

Minimum Qualifications

Training and experience in hospital health information management department (medical records)

Experience with coding ICD-10-CM

Experience with data entry using a PC.
